The Vocable team features both quantitative researchers and communication scholars in rhetoric and cultural studies. Our approach to research is based in communication scholar James Carey's insight that communication is culture. In his book Communication as Culture, Carey explains that the word communication shares its root with community, and that in fact, the act of communicating--the way we do it, the language we use, the habits we form--produces and maintains what we understand to be culture. We design research services that give you a unique understanding of the culture of your organization, customer, or community.

We offer bespoke research designs using surveys and interviews, combined with methods including sentiment analysis, content analysis and thematic analysis, all tailored to your sample and challenges. We combine our cultural studies foundation with rigorous academic methodology and standards of reliability to provide you with the answers you need in readable and actionable reports.
