Rosemary Pennington is an associate professor of journalism at Miami University, where she also serves as the host of the Stats + Stories podcast. At Miami, Pennington teaches students how to interview, dig into data, and write clearly in order to best communicate the stories they want to tell. Before academia, Pennington was an award-winning public broadcasting journalist, serving as managing editor of WOUB's nightly television newscast Newswatch, anchoring newscasts on WOUB AM and WOUB FM, and working as an announcer/producer at WBHM in Birmingham, AL. She has won a national science reporting award for a story she produced about the first silverback gorilla to receive a pacemaker.
